Wimbledon arts festival to make comeback

Music fans and comedy lovers are applauding the return of Wimbledon’s biggest arts festival.

The annual Cannizaro Park Festival was dropped in 2009 after the company behind the event said it had become too expensive to run.

But this week a new organisation, Wimbledon event management company BHL, confirmed it would resurrect the summer celebration this year. The organisers promised a line-up of rock and pop acts, tribute bands, jazz evenings and comedy.

The festival will run from July 2 to 17 - kicking off on the same weekend as the Wimbledon tennis finals. Tickets will go on sale later this month.
