A man has appeared in court after a 60-year-old woman was dragged out of her car and robbed by two men in an affluent area of Wimbledon.
The woman received “relatively minor injuries” during the violent robbery, which police say took place as she was trying to get into her car in Vineyard Hill Road at 11pm on Saturday, June 11.
Jonathan Tsekiri, 27, of John Smith Avenue, Hammersmith, has been charged with robbing a Christian Dior necklace worth £500.
He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 15, and was released on bail until his trial, which is due to begin at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday, August 11. He is subject to a daily curfew, and has been banned from going anywhere within the SW19 postcode.
