Police have confirmed that a man who was allegedly seen pointing a gun at another man before following him home may have been involved in an attempted car jacking.

Armed police were called to Norman Road, Colliers Wood, after receiving reports of a man pointing a gun at another man before chasing him at 7.15pm on Saturday, May 7.

Witnesses reported that it appeared to have been a ‘car jacking’ but the alleged victim refused to speak to the police when contacted.

The Metropolitan police added that no suspect has been identified, and it is unknown whether the gun was real or fake.

The 25-year-old man who originally called the police after seeing the gun, before being followed by the gunman himself, previously spoke to the Wimbledon Guardian about what happened.

The man added that the couple were followed by the gunman as they headed home, but managed to lose him.

He said: “I guess he was trying to intimidate us.”
