The unveiling of masterplans for the redevelopment of more than 900 homes in Merton, and the creation of 1,200 new ones, has been delayed.
Housing association Circle Housing Merton Priory (CHMP) was due to show residents the latest plans for the regeneration of three estates by the end of this month.
But a spokeswoman said the unveiling has been delayed because CHMP needs more time to finalise details of the housing options and financial support for residents currently living on the estates.
Eastfields in Mitcham, High Path in south Wimbledon and Ravensbury in Morden have all been earmarked for demolition as part of a regeneration project which would add about 1,200 extra homes to the estates.
Deborah Upton, CHMP's executive director of governance, said the new dates for consultation around the updated regeneration masterplans and residents' offers will be announced in the next few weeks.
She said: "We know the residents' offer is a hugely important part of the proposed regeneration and residents are keen to know the detail.
"But it’s crucial that the offer is fair and deliverable so we are taking some more time to work on the detail to make sure residents will have all the information they need."
