A housing association has teamed up with a college to help job-seekers get work in health, social care and security.

Circle Housing Merton Priory (CHMP) is working with South Thames College to offer Merton residents free and accredited courses for anyone interested in becoming a security officer or care assistant.

The scheme is part of the Routes2Work programme, which already runs construction, customer service and business start-up courses.

CHMP is also offering residents free access to an online job search tool featuring more than one million jobs.

MyWorkSearch sends users automatic updates on new vacancies.

For those claiming job seekers' allowance, their account can be linked to their Universal Job Match claim, so they can keep their job seeker adviser informed of their search activities.
