There has been a lot of reaction to yesterday’s story about the new proposals for a smaller greyhound stadium in Plough Lane, Wimbledon.

This morning a poll on the site had over 1,000 responses with 54 per cent in favour of AFC Wimbledon returning to Plough Lane and 40 per cent in favour of greyhound racing, with a further five per cent voting for 'something else.'

Many people have also left comments on the article:

Kenilworth Don: This is getting laughable. The question that needs asking is who paid for the 'independent' report commissioned by Hume and WPRA! As Galliard/AFC haven't submitted their detailed plans I am not sure how the 'experts' can make a judgement. This smacks of desperation and poor PR.

BlackNGold: Still seems a cruel irony that AFC Wimbledon are pulling the same planning stunt on greyhound racing that was pulled on Wimbledon all those years ago.

Guess fans are able to turn a blind eye to that side of things. Don't understand why there can't be space for both sports on the site, there's plenty of room. Is there transport / healthcare / education infrastructure to support all these new homes?

rob_c: I hope that Taggart's plans get propery scrutiny at the public meeting. I went to his last one, and it talked more about the football club's plans than his own, despite the fact that there are rumoured to be serious flaws in his underlying plans (such as the proposed 'tanks' to control any flooding being apparently unsuited to the task).

co2: More people will watch greyhound racing at Wimbledon each year than watch AFC Wimbledon.
