Jazz lovers are invited to the very best in big band music at a concert at the Lantern Arts Centre.

The Merton Youth Jazz Orchestra with MYJO2 jazz orchestra and the VoiceBox youth choir will be performing at the Evening Jazz Concert on Saturday, November 15.

As well as appearing in London, the orchestra has also toured Croatia, France, Italy, Norway and Switzerland, backed jazz stars including Stan Salzmann and Pete Churchill, and won awards at the National Festival of Music for Youth.

The musicians at MYJO received the ultimate accolade in 2009 with an invitation to appear at the 43rd Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, one of the world’s most famous jazz festivals.

The Merton Youth Jazz Orchestra event will take place at the Lantern Arts Centre, Tolverne Road, Raynes Park from 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children under 14 years-old.
