A drug-dealing gang member has been banned from entering Mitcham or having a knife in public, unless he is eating in a restaurant.

Kyle Blackford, 20, who has convictions for burglary, violent disorder, criminal damage, theft, disorderly behaviour and drug dealing, was banned for three years by Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court.

He was also banned from having any drugs in public or hanging out with other gang members by the court on Friday, October 10.

Police said Blackford, of no fixed address, is a prominent gang member and has been involved in drug dealing in the borough in the past.

As part of the antisocial behaviour order he is banned from entering the seven wards which make up Mitcham.

He is also barred from carrying a knife of any length in a public place unless eating in a restaurant, and having any drugs paraphernalia including but not limited to, snap seal plastic bags.

Blackford is allowed to enter the area for court appearances and for meetings with his solicitor.

He is also banned from hanging out with eight named individuals in public.
