Tributes have been paid to a father who died near Mitcham Eastfields station on Saturday.
Graham McColgan worked as a chef at the William Morris pub in Merton Abbey Mills and lived in Colliers Wood with his fiancée and daughter.
Born in Glasgow and in his mid fifties, he was a keen Celtic football fan.
A friend and former colleague of Mr McColgan paid tribute to him.
He said: "I've worked as Graham's second chef for a number of years.
"He will be greatly missed by all the chefs who have had the pleasure of working with him; he was a true friend and one of the nicest guys I know.
"He was a Glasgow Celtic fan through and through."
The William Morris pub in Watermill Way did not wish to comment on their employee’s death when contacted by the Wimbledon Guardian.
Paramedics were called to Eastfields Road, close to Mitcham Eastfields station just before 2.25pm on Saturday, September 20.
British Transport Police also attended.
Mr McColgan was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a train.
