A fruity event was so popular that volunteers sold out of apples despite making 50 litres of juice and dozens of pies.
The annual Fruit Day in Wimbledon saw hundreds of people enjoy games and healthy refreshments, with many taking home handmade jams and chutneys at the end of the day.

Organised by Abundance Wimbledon, the event featured stalls, an impromptu art exhibition complete with easels and music from the Ukulele Orchestra.

Joint organiser Juliet Boyd from Abundance Wimbledon said: "We ran out of apples so we had some disappointed customers.
"We made 50 litres of apple juice and sold a lot of honey and apple pies."
The volunteer run organisation aims to use surplus fruit collected mainly from people’s gardens in the borough.
Dr Boyd said they had picked over 1,500kg of fruit this year and donated over 400kg of that to local charities.

Dr Boyd said: "It’s a lot of hard work but it is nice.
"We have a lot of fun because it’s a nice crowd of people - it’s teamwork."
The event was held on Saturday, September 20 in St Mark’s Church garden in Wimbledon Hill Road.
