A moustachioed man has raised £600 for a hospice and prostate cancer after taking on the Movember challenge.

Keith Witham, director of fundraising at St Raphael’s Hospice in Cheam, joined millions of men this month in growing a ‘tache to raise money for prostate cancer and the hospice.

Last year the hospice had 75 prostate cancer patients, costing a total of £330,000.

Mr Witham said: "The campaign started some years ago in Melbourne and one of our daughters lives in Melbourne so that's when it caught my attention.

"Last year [Movember] raised £73m and there were about 800,000 people taking part, 200,000 from the UK, so it has really grown substantially."

The Wimbledon Guardian is currently running its Give Your Quid Campaign in support of the hospice.
