Is the art in Old Swarn Wharf, Battersea a Banksy?
5:16pm Wednesday 29th August 2012 in Wandsworth
Street-art which has appeared on the wall of a block of flats has raised questions whether it is by guerilla-artist Banksy.
The image of a girl carrying swords is believed to have appeared on the flats in Old Swan Wharf, Battersea Church Road, Battersea, on August 18.
If the image is a Banksy it could fetch more than £100,000 at an auction and draw tourism from art fans.
It is also a possibility the image was created by an art student in the Royal College of Art, which has a campus nearby in Howie Street, Battersea.
Banksy is a Bristol street artist who creates satirical images in a stencil style and has also turned his hand to making films.
In 2008 it was believed street art in Tooting could have been created by Banksy in Stella Road, Tooting.
