Police are appealing for witnesses after a member of staff was threatened at a train station.

The man first became aggressive on July 5 when he tried to get through ticket barriers without a ticket around 2pm, in Balham Station, Balham Station Road.

He brandished a metal object and threatened the 38-year-old woman and subjected her to a barrage of verbal abuse.

On August 7 he returned at 10am and apologised to the victim for his previous behaviour.

But because she was scared and refused to listen he became aggressive again and made further threats towards her.

Detective Constable Rachel Smith, investigating officer, said: "When the victim, who was understandably left shaken and intimidated by their previous encounter, didn’t want to talk to the man, he yet again became aggressive and made further threats towards her.

"If you recognise the man in the images, or have any information about the incident, then please get in touch."

Police have identified a man they believe has key information after reviewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses.
