Shoppers celebrate the spirit of Tooting Market

It was the busiest Saturday ever at Tooting market at the weekend.

Around 500 people attended an event celebrating the spirit of Tooting Market organised by manager Roi Mengelgrein.

He said: "It was the busiest Saturday I’ve ever seen. "It was heart warming. The weather turned out to be amazing, there was great food and entertainment. I felt like I was on holiday."

The event included three bouncy castles, free face painting, a traditional Portuguese band, belly dancing, and two barbecues.

Plans to hold a salsa or zumba night at the market are in the pipeline.
