Hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks are set to play a special performance in the borough to celebrate the Olympic Torch Relay.

The free event, organised by Coca-Cola, will see the 20-year-olds play a one-off gig in Tooting Bec Common on July 23 when the torch relay reaches the borough.

People in the borough are invited to watch the shows where the pair will play hits "Mama Do the Hump" and "Down with the Trumpets."

Band members Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule, of West London, said they are getting into the spirit of the Olympics and are looking forward to the gymnastics in particular.

They said: "Just being part of the Olympics in anyway is kind of an honour, these kinds of things happen once a Millennium.

"It will be exciting, we are friends with all of the other bands that are playing. We won’t be looking to leave straight after, it will be a great atmosphere."

Before the evening celebrations the torch will travel through Garratt Lane up to Tooting High Street, and then onwards to Tooting Bec Road before reaching Tooting Bec Common.

There are 61 free evening celebrations happening along the course of the relay, culminating with a finale in Hyde Park the day before the opening ceremony.

Rizzle Kicks feature on the line-up for the star-studded event, alongside Dizzee Rascal, The Wanted, Mark Ronson and Katy B.

The event forms part of Coca-Cola's Move To The Beat, campaign which aims to bring youngsters to the Olympics.
