A councillor has resigned after alleging the leader of Wandsworth Council failed to treat her mental health issues in a compassionate or fair manner.
Lucy Allan, a Conservative councillor for Southfields ward, said she agreed to take a period of leave in order to recover from a mental illness and spend time with her family.
However, when she was fit and healthy to return, she claims council leader Councillor Ravi Govindia made it clear she was unable to return to her role.
Coun Govindia said: “I am saddened to hear this news as Lucy has always been a valued and respected member of our team.”
