A 13-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man after boarding the 280 bus in Tooting High Street.

Police are looking for this man in connection with the incident, on Wednesday, June 23, at about 12.05pm.

The man began talking to the boy at the bus stop before boarding the same bus and placing his hand on his knee.

When the boy got off at Figges Marsh in Mitcham, the suspect followed him and touched the victim’s groin area asking,“is it big?”.

He said he wanted to become friends with the boy and told him he would wait while he attended his appointment.

Stunned, the victim called a relative for help - prompting the man to run away.

The suspect is a 6ft-tall Asian man, aged about 30, of normal build. He was wearing a blue and white light shirt and smart trousers.

He speaks with a strong accent, believed to be Sri Lankan.

Anyone who recognises the man in the photograph or can report other information should call Detective Constable Michelle Lamb at Wandsworth CID on 0208 247 8736, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
