South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust has reported no significant disruptions to services during the recent adverse weather conditions.
Maresa Ness, deputy chief executive and chief operating officer, said that staff had performed excellently, going that extra mile to ensure the hospital continued to run smoothly throughout the snowy weather.
She added: “We instantly activated our emergency planning procedure and business continuity plan to ensure any disruptions were kept to an absolute minimum.
“The plans are in place so that we always have contingency arrangements should anything unexpected happen.
“Our priority must always be vulnerable people, and in the instances where the weather has prevented our staff from visiting as normal, we have initiated a telephone support system to ensure those who need assistance are contacted.”
