Police have released footage of a shooting in Battersea last year in an attempt to identify a man who opened fire on a group of people in broad daylight.

A group of men became involved in an altercation in Lavender Hill with a man on a bicycle across the road from them and the suspect suddenly began shooting in their direction.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened on May 18, 2016 at around 5pm.

The group ran after the shooter who cycled east along Lavender Hill but he managed to get away.

A 9mm shell casing was found at the scene and police believe the shooter used a 9mm hand pistol.

He was wearing either a black ski mask or dark coloured scarf to cover his face. His bike is described as a dark coloured mountain bike.

No arrests have been made.

It remains unclear why the video was only released now.
