Ralf Fiennes’ cousin was one of two Wandsworth Black Lives Matters activists spared jail after a protest on the runway at City Airport last week.

Natalie Fiennes, 25, of Thurleigh Road, Battersea, was conditionally discharged after pleading guilty to aggravated trespass with intent to obstruct a person engaged in lawful activity.

Ms Fiennes and Ben Tippet, 24, also of Thurleigh Road, both pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday, September 14).

A second charge of being unlawfully airside within a restricted area of an aerodrome was dropped.

From last week: Two Black Lives Matter campaigners arrested for protest at London City Airport

Nine protesters chained themselves to a bamboo tripod at about 5.30pm last Tuesday (September 6), disrupting flights due to arrive from Dublin, Rotterdam, Luxembourg, New York and Frankfurt.

Metropolitan police officers took four hours to remove the individuals and reopen the runway.

The nine protesters were all ordered to pay £95 each in costs.

Black Lives Matter activists claimed they held the protest to "highlight the UK's environmental impact on the lives of black people locally and globally."
