Battersea fire station opened its doors to the public on Saturday as part of London fire brigade's 150th anniversary.
Visitors watched a demonstration of firefighters cutting open a car to rescue a trapped victim, and got the opportunity to try on uniforms.
The event, part of the Falcon Road heritage festival, was one of a series of events marking London Fire Brigade's 150th birthday.
Vintage appliances were on show, along with items provided by the Brigade Museum and modern equipment to give an insight into the history and evolution of firefighting in London.
The Army, Air and Sea Cadets and National Army Museum also hosted stalls to celebrate the Armed Services Day.
