A pair of south west London actors have landed roles in a West End comedy of biblical proportions.

Battersea’s Joe Morrow and Barnes’ Jasmine Hyde will both appear in NotMoses, the theatrical debut of award-winning filmmaker Gary Sinyor (United We Fall, Leon the Pig Farmer, The Bachelor).

Set in Ancient Egypt, it is the story of a crying baby who is plucked from his basket – only to be chucked back into the Nile when she sees a nicer baby. NotMoses grows up a disgruntled slave while Prince Moses studies accountancy at Pharoah’s court. Both men are thrown together when they are forced to flee into Sinai desert and they make kebabs on the burning bush.

Morrow, one of the capital’s leading cabaret hosts, plays Feripoti while Hyde, who plays Leonie Snell on The Archers, is Princess.

NotMoses begins previews at the Arts Theatre on March 10 and is booking to May 14. Go to notmosesonstage.com
