A dawn raid in Battersea was one of 14 across London yesterday targeting drug dealing and drug-related violence, which saw 11 people arrested in total.

Met Police also carried out raids from 6.30am at 11 addresses in Pimlico, and one each in West Brompton and Maida Vale.

Large quantities of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis - as well as about £2,000 in cash - were seized.

Detective Superintendent Jess Ruddell said: "Drug dealing and the anti-social behaviour and violence generated by it can blight communities.

"The people of Pimlico raised concerns about these issues and over the past few months Westminster Police has worked closely with the Trident officers and borough partners to address those concerns.

"Today sees that activity coming to fruition."
