More than 100 small business owners and entrepreneurs took advantage of free advices sessions and workshops last week as part of a Wandsworth Council initiative.

The pop-up event in five libraries across the borough was part of the council’s Business Support on the High Street scheme.

Collaborating with small business network Enterprise Nation and business insurance provider Simply Business, the scheme offered guidance on finance, cashflow, IT, management, leadership, sales and marketing.

Esin Akan, a luxury handbag designer and full-time mum said: "I am pleased with the number of different support services available - this is just the sort of thing I need.

"Juggling being a mum with working means you don't have much spare time."

Council business spokesman Guy Senior said: "Feedback has been very good and we hope the programme has made a valuable contribution to our small business economy."
