The London Wetland Centre has been named as one of the top nature reserves in the UK.
BBC Countryfile magazine chosen the 105 acre centre in Barnes for their list of the 15 best nature reserves in Britain, placing it alongside the island of Skomer and Bass Rock.
The centre, owned by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, was previously described by Sir David Attenborough as the "ideal model for how humankind and the natural world may live side by side in the 21st century".
David Green, manager of the London Wetland Centre, said he was delighted to have made the list.
He said: "Our wardens do a great job creating habitats for birds such as bitterns, and a thriving colony of water voles; they’re a big draw for wildlife lovers from all over the world.
"But we also pride ourselves on offering hands-on activities for all visitors whatever their level of interest."
