Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to a blaze in Balham this afternoon after decking caught alight.
Crews from Tooting, Clapham and Brixton fire stations were called to Western Lane at 2.41pm to reports of a fire.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: "The fire is at the rear of a house converted into flats and it is decking alight."
The spokesman added crews were still at the scene at 3.50pm but the decking had suffered "100 per cent damage by fire".
