Women rowers competing in the Boat Race next month will win equal rights on the water with men for the first time in the event's 186-year history.
Men and women will be racing on the same day on the same stretch of water. To mark the occasion, an exhibition opened on Friday, March 20, at the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre featuring lady rowers' sportswear through the ages.
The world-famous race is being held on the Thames on Saturday, April 11.
Among the exhibition, co-hosted by sportswear brand Crewroom, there are black and white images of elite Edwardian lady rowers in their boats.
The Putney Exchange Shopping Centre also announced it is sponsoring one of Britain's top rowers, Jess Eddie, who trains out of Putney-based London Rowing Club.
