A 30-year-old man was knocked out cold in an unprovoked attack in broad daylight in Tooting.

The victim was walking along Furzedown Drive, carrying his iPad, on Saturday at about 9.30am, according to police.

A man walked towards him and the victim put his iPad in his pocket. The man asked him: "Can I see your iPad?" but the victim ignored the request and carried on walking.

The victim looked behind him and noticed there were two other men behind him.

He felt a sharp blow to the head and lost consciousness.

When he came round, two members of the public were with him.

He went to hospital where he was treated for a small cut to the right side of his head. He still had his iPad when he came round.

Detective Constable Nikki Barkas, from Wandsworth CID, said: "Unfortunately the victim cannot remember much about his assailants.

"I am appealing for any witnesses or indeed the two members of the public who found the victim after he had been struck on the head to contact police.

“They may have information that will help us find these three suspects. This was an unprovoked attack in broad daylight.

"If anyone can help us identify the suspects please contact police on 020 3276 2604 or 101."

The first suspect is described as black and the second two are described as white. All were aged about 18.
