A postwoman rescued a man from a burning flat on the 17th floor of a Battersea tower block.
The woman heard the flat’s fire alarm going off in Parkham Street on Saturday morning.
She called the London Ambulance Service who took the man, suffering from smoke inhalation, to hospital.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus contained the fire in the kitchen of the flat, which was slightly damaged.
Three fire engines and around 14 firefighters and officers from Battersea, Fulham and Clapham fire stations attended the incident.
More to follow.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Are you the postwoman? Email ssleigh@london.newsquest.co.uk or call 0208 722 6344
