A planned closure of a main road in Putney tomorrow has been cancelled.

Putney Bridge Road was due to be closed on February 22 for resurfacing work but it will now be fully open with no traffic restrictions and all bus stops operational.

The works have been postponed and the road will instead be closed between 9am and 4pm on Sunday, March 1, and Sunday, March 8.

During this time, a traffic diversion will be in place.

The two day closure means planned roadworks for Tuesday and Wednesday next week [February 24 and 25] will not go ahead.

The changes were implemented due to heavy rain this week affecting progress and increased traffic disruption.

The work is being carried out by FM Conway on behalf of Wandsworth Council.

Anyone with concerns can call engineer Paul Swallow on 020 8871 6686.
