Police investigating the death of a six-week-old baby boy want to speak to the woman in this photograph, taken at Tooting Broadway station.

Wandsworth Times:

The woman was captured on CCTV on Thursday, November 27, last year, at 8.40pm near the escalator.

Police believe she saw the child that day because footage appeared to show her checking on the baby’s welfare while it travelled with a woman.

At about 9.10am on Saturday, November 29, last year, police attended an address in north London, following concerns for a child’s welfare.

The baby was found unconscious and unresponsive at the address. He was pronounced dead at hospital a short while later.

A postmortem examination held on Wednesday, December 3, proved inconclusive and further toxicology tests are being carried out.

A man and a woman, both aged in their 40s, were arrested on Saturday, November 29, in connection with the death and subsequently charged.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, leading the investigation from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "As part of our investigation we are keen to trace a woman pictured on CCTV at Tooting Broadway station.

"This woman is potentially an important witness. If that is you, or you have any information, please come forward as soon as possible."
