A paramedic and a medical technician were attacked by a patient in Battersea yesterday evening.

The London Ambulance staff were kicked by a woman who tried to bite and scratch them in Northcote Road – a region known as Nappy Valley due to the huge population of families with young children.

Staff were able to restrain her until police arrived. Six police cars turned up to help.

The female paramedic was left with a bite and scratch marks while the male technician suffered minor injuries.

It is understood the female attacker was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Battersea Sergeant, Nathan Shickle, tweeted the incident and said: "I can sort of understand assaults on police but this is unacceptable."
