A man has been hit by a car outside Tooting Broadway station.
The man, in his 80s, was hit by a Volkswagen Polo outside the tube station just before 1pm today.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We treated one patient believed to be in his 80s he was taken as a priority to St George's Hospital with a head injury."
Police closed the A24 Tooting High Street west bound due to the accident at the junction of the A217 Tooting Broadway and Garratt Terrace.
There was congestion on the A24 southbound to the A214 at Tooting Bec Station.
Police put a diversion in place affecting bus routes 57, 131, 219, 493 and G11.
