Police are searching for a man riding a mobility scooter following an attack that left another with a broken jaw.

Your Local Guardian:

The 31-year-old victim, Emmanuvel Camisan Judes, was walking home from work when two men, including one on a mobility scooter, attacked him, police said.

Mr Judes was pushed backwards and hit his head on the pavement in Garratt Lane, near the Southside Shopping Centre, on Friday, July 25, at 11pm, leaving him unconscious and in a pool of blood.

The next day was his 31st birthday, and he spent it in hospital having surgery on a broken jaw.

He said he was waiting for a bus home to Mitcham when the group looked at him. The man in the wheelchair asked “Why you looking at me?” Mr Judes said.

Your Local Guardian:

One man pushed him in the chest and “the other guy in the wheelchair tried to attack me. He tried to push at my leg. He came at my leg in the wheelchair.”

He said he was pushed again, fell over and hit his head on a wall, knocking him out. Both suspects, along with a woman, who was not involved in the attack, left towards Wandsworth High Street.

Despite enquiries, the police have been unable to identify the scooter-riding man and his companions.

Three months later they are appealing to the public to help identify the people in these CCTV images.

Detective Constable Chris Taylor, from Wandsworth CID, said: “This attack was completely unprovoked. The victim had just finished the late shift at a local supermarket and was on his way home.

“We know the suspects had been in the Cineworld cinema prior to the offence and came out of the Southside Centre and on to Garratt Lane.

“We are issuing CCTV images of the group and I would hope that someone would be able recognise them.”

The first man is described as white, aged 20 to 25, and was wearing a black T-shirt and red baseball hat.

The second man was white, aged 40 to 45, and was riding a mobility scooter.
