Plans have been revealed for the final stage of the Battersea Arts Centre’s £13m redevelopment.
The Grade II* listed Victorian building will feature a theatre space in a lift for 30 people and an outdoor performance area.
The redesign started in 2006, in collaboration architects Haworth Tompkins. They aimed to bring in more people from the local community and the centre has already seen improved footfall thanks to the initial redesigns.
The redesign also includes three artist bedrooms, a new learning hub, workshops and restoration of the original Victorian features such as the dome and mosaic floor.

David Jubb, artistic director at Battersea Arts Centre, said: "The innovative redevelopment of the building echoes this in every sense; we are opening up our spaces to allow even more people to develop and share their ideas here with us."
The centre is housed in the former town hall and its shows often go on to tour across the world.
Despite undergoing a major refurbishment the centre has managed to stay open throughout with a full programme of shows, events and projects.
