A flat is badly damaged after a blaze yesterday afternoon.
Six fire engines and 30 fire fighters were called to the fire, at 5pm, in a block of flats on Fayland Avenue, on the border of Streatham and Tooting.

The fire badly damaged a second floor flat and part of the three storey building’s roof has also been destroyed.
Seventeen adults and three children evacuated the block before the fire fighters arrived. There were no injuries.
The fire was under control by 6.30pm.
Fire crews from Tooting, West Norwood, Norbury and Mitcham fire stations were all called to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
