Staff at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home fear potential new owners are overlooking a dog because of her permanently sad face.

Nobody has been interested in poor Bless, a six-year-old Rottweiler cross, who has been at the centre for five months.

‘Loving and calm’ Bless was found stray, roaming the streets of London all by herself.

Despite her kind temperament, Bless is always overlooked by visitors to the kennels, making her the longest staying resident of the famous charity.

Rob Young, head of dog rehoming, said: “Bless has a mournful face but a heart of gold – anyone who meets her can’t believe what a gentle giant she is. Although she looks sad she is an absolute joy to be around – that’s why it’s so sad for us that she’s still in kennels rather than happily established in a loving home.”
