Putney had something to shout about yesterday when singer Lulu turned up to celebrate Superdrug’s 50th birthday.
The company, which opened its first ever store on Putney High Street, invited Lulu along to see its temporary vintage makeover complete with 1960s products and prices.
The shop, still on the same site today, opened in the 1960s, the same era of Lulu's first hit Shout, and fifty years later there are more than 850 stores in the UK and southern Ireland.
During the last 50 years the shop has changed beyond recognition, along with the beauty and health products on the shelves.
Lulu said: “I’m so pleased to be part of Superdrug’s 50th birthday celebrations, I’m a big fan, and what a fabulous milestone for us to share.”
