A packed tube was forced to stop for an hour after fire broke out.
The District Line train became stuck between Southfields Station and Wimbledon Park Station on Monday evening at 6pm.
Firefighters were called to the blaze, located on train tracks which the train would need to travel over.
About 100 passengers were on the tube and became irate because of the hot weather.
Firefighters distributed water to those stuck on the train.
The fire was put out just after 7pm, with the train able to travel again shortly afterwards.
