Small businesses are being urged to arm themselves against swine flu.
The pandemic is expected to expand in the colder months, putting smaller work forces at risk of staff shortages.
London’s Business Link recommends more stringent hygiene procedures and the erection of screens between customers and staff.
Andy Berrow, regional manager, said: “Small businesses have proved to be resilient through the recession.
"As we begin to see signs of recovery it is vital to take every precaution necessary against threats to any improvement."
