Image released of Putney pensioner Vittorio Kavaliero killed in lorry crash

Police have released an image of a pensioner killed after being hit by a lorry in Putney High Street last month.

Vittorio Kavaliero, from Charlwood Terrace, Putney, was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts by paramedics to resuscitate him.

The 77-year-old, also known as Victor, was hit by the truck as he attempted to cross the thoroughfare at about 4.40pm on Friday, September 28.

A post-mortem gave cause of death as multiple injuries.

Tributes and flowers were laid on the pavement outside Lloyd's Bank and Sean Hanna hairdressers.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information.

Detective Constable Nicola Linton, of the Criminal Investigation Unit, said: "The High Street was very busy at that time of the afternoon. We urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward."
