Police investigating disappearance of Lee Boxell in Cheam 24 years ago have new leads

Murder police have been contacted by new witnesses who may hold the key to missing Cheam schoolboy Lee Boxell's disappearance 24 years ago.

Last week's Sutton Guardian article on police linking Lee to an unofficial youth club in St Dunstan's Church has prompted people to come forward and tell police what they knew about the missing teenager.

The detective leading the investigation John McQuade said he would still like to speak to anyone who can place Lee at the youth club behind St Dunstan's Church on the day he went missing.

Detective Inspector McQuade said: "The article has generated some interest and some potential new witnesses have been in contact and we are investigating new leads as a result. We would like to speak to anyone who saw Lee in Cheam Village on September 10, 1988. "

“Anyone who saw Lee in the churchyard or at the shed, or know anything about him being there that day, we would like to speak to. It was the first Saturday after the new school term had begun.”
