Politician walks to raise money for animal centre
A politician is putting politics aside to try and raise money for an animal centre.
Steve O' Connell, Greater London Assembly member for Sutton and Croydon, is doing a sponsored walk in support of the Riverside Animal Centre in Wallington.
The walk will start at City Hall in central London and will finish at the centre itself.
The centre is part of the London Wildcare Trust, which is dedicated to the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of wild animals and birds.
It works across South London and Surrey providing care and aid to wild and pet animals.
Mr O' Connell, said: "The centre was founded by Ted Burden, who first cared for injured birds and animals in a bedroom and a shed.
Ted now leads a team of committed volunteers and dedicated professional staff, who work tirelessly to care for the growing number of animals that desperately need your help."
