A woman was threatened with a gun during a raid on a Surbiton post office this morning.

The raid happened at about 9am in Alexandra Drive, Surbiton.

She was taken to hospital for minor injuries suffered during the robbery.

The Flying Squad said there were two men involved.

Bill Hobson, who works in Framers Art Gallery next door, said: "I'm still in a bit of shock at the moment. It's an armed robbery by two guys.

"The postmistress was beaten up a bit. She is in hospital at the moment."
