Brave Coulsdon students open results on Live TV

Students from the Coulsdon school opened their results live on TV
Five brave students from Oasis Academy Coulsdon were up at 4am preparing to open their GCSE results live on TV yesterday.
Dheeren Somarchand, Leyla Resuli, Laura Viljoen, Yashley Bissonauth and Matthew Bailey, travelled with Prinicpal David Millar to open their results Live on Sky News.
Dheeren who achieved 18 GCSEs, 10 of which are A*-C Grades, including Maths and English, described his results as "amazing."
Matthew who also achieved 18 GCSEs, 15 at A*-C including Maths and English, said he was particularly proud of achieving a grade C in Maths.
Leyla Resuli was one of the Academy's top achieving girls, gaining 17 GCSE's including three A*'s and six A's.
The top achieving boy, Yashley Bissonauth also passed 17 GCSE's all at A*- C grades.
Laura Viljoen said she was "very proud" after achieving 16 GCSE's.
Mr Millar added: "It was quite a surreal experience and it all happened very quickly but I was very proud of the students who took it all in their stride as if they appeared on live TV everyday."
The Coulsdon school is celebrating after 66% of students achieved 5 A* to C GCSE including Maths and English.
The results are a 17% improvement on last year's results and 92% of students achieved 5 A* to C GCSEs.
Mr Millar added: "I am absolutely delighted for our students and staff celebrating.
"It has been a real team effort and by working together, determined to success, we have smashed all previous school records."
