Missing teenager has links with Mitcham, Morden, Wallington and Hackbridge

A 14-year-old girl has been missing since Tuesday.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Kyra Baksh who went missing from her grandmother’s address in Seymour Road, Mitcham.

The teenager left the address at 1.30pm and said she was going to see a friend, although she did not say which friend. Her family have not heard from her since.

It is believed that Kyra may be in the areas around her mum’s address in Plough Lane Close, Wallington, her Grandmother’s address in Seymour Road Mitcham or her Dad’s address on the Hatfield Mead Estate, Morden.

She may be staying in the area around Durand Close, Carshalton, or with a friend called “George” in Hackbridge, although police have no information about this friend.

She is believed to have an Oyster Card for travelling. She also has a mobile phone but this has not been used for a week. She is thought to have had around £85 in cash when she left.

She was last seen wearing a red top and blue jeans. She has a brown shoulder bag and black hair described as frizzy and messy.

If you see Kyra, please contact police immediately on 999.

Hang on a mo, call police on 999? Is there not an incident no to contact the station direct?? The police are THAT concerned are they?

999 is the best number to call. Then police close to where she is found can collect her and take her to a place of safety. I don't know what you think would happen if you phoned a station direct.

A. 999 would get a faster response to be able to take her to a place of safety.

B. 999 is a better number to remember than a long winded 0208 number.

I hope either they find her OK this time- or she decides to return home- but it is worrying both that we only just heard about this- and that her phone has not been used for a week- she's a 14 and a girl, at 54 I use MY mobile at least three to four times a day and I don't have many friends- I wonder was she bullied at school or by her siblings if she had any so she felt she had to get away though, still hoping and praying this girl gets home-or is found safe

She's been missing since Tuesday and has not used her mobile for a week. This is the first we hear of it. Alarm bells should have been ringing very loudly before this. I just hope she turns up safe and well

If she has an Oyster card she could be anywhere! that was what bugged me about poor Tia, she was a 12 year old girl in South London and went off without her mobile phone and Oyster card! at least this little one has money but why did she have £85? a lot of money for a 14 year old, and her home life seems a bit complicated, why have the Police only just released this information? or making national appeals on TV? she could be anywhere in the Country, maybe the family have only just contacted the Police, thinking she was at one or the others houses, but when my child was 14 I wanted to know where he was and if he was safe all the time. hope they find her OK.

She has apparantly been found by the police on Saturday 18th August at her grandmothers house, which doesn't make sense as that's where she supposedly disappeared from.
