Woman tries to hang herself from balcony inside Croydon Magistrates' Court
10:39am Wednesday 11th July 2012 in Top Stories By Nick Hitchens
A woman tried to hang herself from a balcony at Croydon Magistrates' Court this morning.
The incident saw the woman, 37, climb over railings installed on the first floor level inside the court and fall.
It is believed two members of the public attempted to prevent her falling and security guards at ground level were able to support her weight by holding her feet until she was cut down.
Ambulance crews were called to the court, on Barclay Road, at 10.10am and are treating the woman at the scene. Police are also in attendance.
The woman was taken to Croydon University Hospital as a priority.
