An unmarked police car has been involved in a collision with two other cars.

Officers were called to the crash on Drummond Road at about 3.20pm.

One woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance, but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesman for Croydon Police said the unmarked car was not responding to an emergency call at the time of the accident.

The incident caused delays to the tram service, but it is now running according to schedule.

Police officers remain at the scene.

That's the trouble with trams sharing the roads. It just takes one minor accident to take out all of the trams in central Croydon.

I got caught up with this particular incident and at first it looked pretty nasty. I'm glad to hear no-one was seriously hurt. It certainly brought Croydon to a standstill with no-one knowing where to go as you weren't able to come down Tamworth Road. Even Tramlink didn't know what had happened when I spoke to them. Need more up date given to the necessary people when something like this happens.
