A Croydon carpenter is to appear on a new renovation game show which airs in April.
Yves Way, owns Rightway Carpentry in south Croydon. The 30-year-old, who has appeared on ITV's 60 minute makeover in the past, is part of a new show on Channel 4 called The Renovation Game.
The programme sees a team of up-and-coming builders and designers put their fees on the line as they try to raise the value of a property.
This week the team are renovating a property in Oak Gardens, Shirley.
Mr Way said: "There is one designer and three builders. We have three days and are given £3,000 to add a value of £15,000 to the property. If we fail we don't get paid.
"The Renovation Game is a game show, but it has the such a nice side to it the people whose houses we work on are so deserving. It is nice to do a property that is closer to home.
"I travelled to Wales, Leeds and Manchester when we did the pilot series last year, so it's nice to work on a house that is so local to Croydon."
A surveyor values the house before the team get access to the property and again after the show. Last year, Mr Way participated in five shows, and failed to be paid for one.
He said: "We are in to the second series now, we have done our crash course. This year is going to be bigger and better, we are going to be tackling much bigger things."
