Three men were arrested and a haul of weapons seized after armed police swooped on a suspected gang of robbers in Cheam.
At about 6.30pm last night, Flying Squad officers observed three men in a suspected stolen VW Bora heading to the rear of the Santander Building Society in London Road, Cheam.
Armed CO19 officers pulled over the vehicle, and a suspected stolen Audi, and two men were arrested.
Two loaded handguns, ammunition, a knife, a taser, balaclavas and a latex mask were found.
A police search is still ongoing for one man who fled the scene.
A third man was arrested later in Thornton Heath.
Police said a 47-year-old man from West Wickham, a 47-year-old man from Thornton Heath, and a 50-year-old man from South Norwood were all currently being questioned in police custody.
